Memorial Hall ,York PA. What a beautiful place to hold a horseshoe pitching tournament. The national organization along with the never ending energy of Dale and Lee Estep and the Pennsylvanian members put on a show for the whole world to see. Jerry Labrosse’s design for the new pits worked great. The local clay brought in for the event was fabulous.

Watching the whole event unfold, one has to admire the skills of all the NHPA officers in organizing this event. A few bumps happened especially on the first day. Overall the event ran smoothly. The Pennsylvania Pitchers Association did a wonderful job maintaining the facility. Many of them spent long, late hours, re-filling boxes, sweeping the floors and general cleanup. My hat is off to them all. Great job, GREAT SHOW!

Congratulations to all the Virginia Pitchers that attended the World Horseshoe Tournament. Many of you where novices like me excited, nervous, and anxious to pitch on the new indoor courts. It took a little getting use to having all the spectators watching so close to the courts. The World will hold a special spot for Gail and Charlie Walker, Ed Thompson and Donald Parks as each of them became World Class Champion. Donald remarked “It only took fourteen years!”

My photos are a bit disappointing. With out a flash it was extremely hard to get a good shot with the lighting in the building. I am a bit relieved that I was not alone, Steve Summerland and Erine the professional photographer also had trouble with the lighting. We all compared notes and towards the end of the event, began to great a few good photos. I posted what I consider some of my better photos, I deleted many shots. I know you will enjoy what I have. Every photo tells a story!

 I look forward to my next World Tournament.
