Earl Linkous Memorial

The Big Oak Horseshoe Club  hosted the Earl Linkous Memorial  Tournament, on June 14, 2008.The weather played a big part in this tournament. We had 8 pitchers show up, and with gas being what it is that was good.

 Our highest pitcher being in the mid 50% and our lower pitcher being in the 20% we chose to handicap the tournament to get everyone a chance to pitch and still be fair.

 Kevin and Pat helped put the pitching information in the computer, and Sharon put in the round information.

 All was well except  for a large black cloud that seemed to be there all day.  In the beginning of the 7th  round, "IT Happened", The sky opened up and we hurried up to get the courts covered. At this point there was no going back to pitching, the lightening, was all around and the rain and hail didn't let up for almost and hour. We had a stream of water covering the shelter floor.

 We had to call  the tournament at that time and get the standing.  Everyone was fine with the results.

 I want to thank everyone who came out to pitch and help. With the corporation and help, with all the pitchers who came out is what keeps us keep pitching.
