The 2007 X - Trials
A little bend by the TD’s let the defending Winchester Whompers sneak in holding the number one seed by an extra 3%. The lastest data from NASTATS pushed them over the advertised total of 150.. However, it is after all the TD call to allow things to happen. Had it been more the 3% it might have been a different story. What the Whompers did not figure in was the power of the “Intimidators’” and “Barb-Arions”. Denise Graves from the Intimidators was having an outstanding day, couple with her husband and Betty and Granville Weakly, Denise pitched an amazing 70% in one of her games. The Intimidators played havoc with the the rest of the teams, but it was the smooth “Take it as it Comes” attitude of the Barb-Arions and their strategy that made the difference. It boiled down to the last round of play. The Intimidators had the lead going in. by two games. A possible three way tie existed. The choices between the teams and who played who coupled with the length of the day, the smooth plays and mix from the Barb-Arions made the difference. The Barb-Arions are certainly the Champions taking the day with 21 and 7 over the Intimidators 20 and 8. SO CLOSE! The Whompers took a beating in the last round ending up with 17 and 11. Pre registering is very important for several reasons. The numbers depend on the entries, the trophy order in order to get them built needs 2-3 weeks. Please in the future if you think you want to attend a pre registered event sign up before the cut-off date. It will help the TD a whole lot. Don’t wait to the last minute! Kevin |
