Wanted

Ronda and Palette

These two attractive and very humorous people made a brief appearance at the Opera House in Newberry SC at the opening ceremony of the Summer Fun tournament. Apparently, the sisters became enamored with Tom Westbrook when he pitched in the World Tournament and won the 2005 Seniors Men’s Championship in Bakersfield Ca earlier this year, and have been following him ever since.

Although Ronda and Paulette were caught on film flirting with Tom at the Opera House, many people reported sightings of them around the trees at the horseshoe complex. Paulette was last seen leaving the Newberry courts early Sunday morning August 21 with a group of 6 or more individuals heading north on SR-121. Vonda was seen in a vehicle with a trailer in tow leaving the complex in the same direction.

Tom was heartbroken that he was not able to say goodbye to the sisters, and asks for your assistance tracking them down. If you have seen either of theses individuals please contact the IHP!

The James City County Fair
Horseshoe Tournament

Saturday, August 13, 2005
The 28th annual James City County Fair went off very well despite the unrelenting heat. Over the two days, only one person was treated for the heat, and with the index well over 100 degrees everyone was relieved that (Continued on the next page)

Try HsMASTER for your next Tournament

For several years, the NHPA has offered a program called HsMaster, to help tournament directors run their events on a computer. I’ve used it several times this past year with complete satisfaction every time. Setting up a tournament on the fly? Piece of cake. Sign Up cut off 10am. HSMaster prints out your round robin cards, complete with court assignments and opponents name per round. Our pitchers were on the courts at 10:30. SEAMLESS!

If you haven’t tried it yet, you owe it to yourself to try out this powerful tool. It makes the chore of all those scoresheets a snap. As with every program, it has it’s own little quirks, but once you learn it, you will find that it’s flexible and can do everything you need. Best of all, it’s free, available via download from NHPA’s website.

There is no doubt it will take a learning curve for all of you involved with running an event, but I know once you experience the Hs Master program, you will not go back in time. If a few of you directors would like to learn HsMaster over the winter I would willing to hold a class and show you the in and outs of the program.

Pat and I attended the Summerfun in Newberry SC.

You can find the reuslts for the events on the South Carolina Web site. I have posted the photos from that trip. A few of the photos are from Shannon Foster.

The Newbery Parks and Recreation, Ron Taylor and crew put on a great show not only at the Opera House, but on the courts as well. We had a fun time in the city. Ate some great food and met a lot of new friends. We both look forward to going again next year.
